In the dim corner of a college apartment, illuminated only by the glow of a laptop screen, Dark Born began as a conversation between two friends who shared both a passion for fitness and an eye for design.
“We were tired of the same old gym wear,” recalls co-founder Declan O’Leary. “Everything was either aggressively bright or completely plain. Nothing spoke to those of us who take fitness seriously but also care about our aesthetic.”
What started as sketches on napkins during late-night study sessions quickly evolved into a mission: to create apparel that stands apart in a crowded gym, premium-quality pieces with designs that make a statement without saying a word.
Jack Willis adds, “We were both gym rats who understood the frustration of spending good money on shirts that fell apart after a few washes or lost their shape. We wanted to create something that would last through the toughest workouts and still look good enough to wear beyond the gym.”
Using everything they could from their savings and an unwavering belief in their vision, Dark Born was officially launched in 2025. The name itself embodies our philosophy—those who emerge from challenges stronger, who work in silence but whose results speak volumes.
